Nothing much changes in Philadelphia

No one had a huge week. Aaron Rai???? Monica continues to roll on. Rory bounced back Friday to make the cut and ended up with a top 10 finish. 14 total points which is all she needed.

Jim wins the Major Sidebet with a great final round from Justin Thomas. Congrats Jim. Otherwise, not much changed. Jaustin moved up into 2nd place as many of us are bunched up still far behind Monica.

Ben Kern is the local pro at Hickory Hills; he’s out of Grove City. He was the top PGA pro and the only one to make the cut.

Loved hearing the pros complain about the course set up. I have no idea if those were legit issues or not. But as I learned from Dave, you’re not allowed to leave the golf course if you’re happy. Glad the pros got a taste of the real world.

Some of you may have raised an eyebrow the other week when I referred to Big J as a “legend”. I would just point out that he’s won 6 Tommy O Awards, several IDI Championships and 2 Brewseum Cup trophies. I think he deserves mention with the other greats.

Congrats to my brother Tom who is getting married this Friday. Silly boy.

Played Sunday at Mill Creek with Big J, his brother Bobby as a surprise guest and Doug. Always an amazing time!

We’re going to Texas next. The Byron Nelson (which was once a huge event) is up next. The Texas boys (Scheffler and Spieth) are playing but not many more FGL golfers.

Manager Golfers expected to play

Commish   Nope - no one,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,

Big J   Jordan Spieth

Kevin Scottie, Tony Finau, Brooks Koepka

Moving towards our 2nd Major

Monica picked up 7 points, enough to keep a comfortable edge ahead of the rest of the field.

B.T.O. Has moved out of the basement thanks to lil Rickie’s 2nd place finish. Congrats. Tough luck for Kevin though.

Happy 1st birthday to Henrik, a part of Team Jaustin (I think).

And happiest birthday wishes go out to Manager Dave. Yep - another year older. Better than the alternative.

PGA Championship on the way!!! Full field

Kind of expect Scottie to step up for this one. Must win for Kevin.

A few updates:

Morikawa has withdrawn from the Truist Championship this weekend. I really don’t know why.

Phil has backed out of the upcoming PGA Championship (sorry Kevin, I think). In his place, Max Homa will step in.

Lil Rickie has also been invited to play in the PGA Championship. He previously hadn’t qualified. (Dustin Johnson has also been given an invitation to play in that, if anyone wants him.)

Las Vegas Odds on winning the Truist Championship: top 4 picks:

1. Rory

2. Cam Young

3. Schauffle

4. Fitzpatrick

Really? And guess who has 3 of those players. How did the rest of us screw up so bad?

She Must Be Stopped!

We’ve had 9 tournaments. Monica has had a winner in 6 of them. People everywhere are asking me if this league is rigged. I simply can’t explain it. Cameron Young won for the 2nd time this FGL season. And I don’t like it. PAK-Mon is now over 100 points.

Scottie came through with his third 2nd place finish in a row. That’s nice; but not enough Kevin.

Signature event with no cut and smaller field. The odds are better that FGL golfers will end up in the top 20. But so many of our guys just finished. Ridiculous!

Mrs. Commissioner continues to rebound from having her chest cracked open. I vaguely remember something about “in sickness and in health” but I really thought there’d be more health involved.

Hey Kids - we're headed to Quail Hollow in NC next. The Truist Championship

Another signature event. No cut. Limited field. Brooks, Wyndham Hotels and Keith Mitchell are alternates.

Manager Golfers expected to play

Big J Bobby MacIntyre, Viktor Hovland, Jacob Bridgeman, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa

Kevin   Sahith Theegala, Tony Finau

And the wins just keep on coming

Fitzpatrick wins again. Which means Monica wins again. And continues to expand on her enormous lead. When oh when will her dynasty end?

At the other end, the Brother’s Bame both managed to lose a point in New Orleans.

-31 was the winning score. Really? Were they playing a scramble? With mulligans and rope/scissors? Ridiculous.

Update on Mrs. Commissioner: she’s home now. Oh she’s still misbehaving. Moving around much more than I ever did. Not sure what that says. But all going in the right direction.

Your Commissioner makes a trade. Bryson is now available for anyone that wants him for the PGA Championship. I just need to go with someone that’s going to play some this season. I’ve not met him yet but am still happy to bring on Mr. Nicole Hojgaard. He seems pleased.

Time for some Pink Cadillac at the Blue Monster at Doral

Good field expected in Florida

Manager Golfers expected to play

B.T.O. Hideki Matsuyama, Harris English, Akshay Bhatia, lil Rickie, Daniel HamBerger

Jaustin   Alex Noren, Milton Bradley, Patrick Cantlay, Jimmy Conners, Sungjae Im

Doug Chris Gotterup, Shane Lowry, Gary Woodland, Si Woo Kim, J.J. Spaun, Min Woo

PAK-Mon   Cameron Young, Jake Knapp, Keith Mitchell

Big J   Viktor Hovland, Jacob Bridgeman, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa

Kevin Scottie, Sahith Theegala

Mrs. Commissioner showing off!

Monday, 4/20, Mrs. Commissioner underwent open heart surgery at Mt. Carmel East. She came through it with no issues and said she had little pain. Today (Tuesday) is a little different as reality is setting in and she is quite uncomfortable. But doing well. Dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment and now open heart surgery within 12 months - that’s pretty impressive. So I guess she’s allowed to show off.

PAK-Mon win again

This time it was Fitzpatrick. She is on quite a roll! This is Fitzpatrick’s 2nd Plaid jacket at Heritage, which I must admit I find quite ugly. And to think Davis Love has 5 of them!

Once again, Scotty came through with a 2nd place finish. Impressive. And yet I think Kevin needs him to start pulling in some wins.

Doug has all the “Woo’s”. Min Woo Lee and Si Woo Kim. Not sure that’s ever been done before.

Rumors are swirling about a potential trade. A trade from Monica. I know - hard to believe. And it’s a type of trade this Commissioner has never processed before. Word on the street is that Monica is thinking of trading Paul. We’ve never had a manager traded before. “I like my studs young”, Monica was quoted as saying. We’ll see where this goes.

And finally, for those at the Draft, you may remember our hostess Kat. What I’ve learned is that she was at the Heritage tournament and is good friends with Scottie’s caddy. Crazy all the connections people have to the FGL.

Nice outing

Had some of the Shadowbox folks out for a night at TopGolf.

But beyond the Shadowbox team, I should point out that Mrs. Commissioner has her own fan club…and in a most shocking place. Over at Twin Peaks (similar to a Tilted Kilt) some of the waitresses and one in particular somehow considers Mugsy to be her twin. Oh, and that she is so much fun. She is a celebrity in there and we are both so confused. But anyway…..

We're headed down the road to Hilton Head

The Heritage. Another “signature” event which means a fairly strong field with NO cut.
