Nice outing
Had some of the Shadowbox folks out for a night at TopGolf.
But beyond the Shadowbox team, I should point out that Mrs. Commissioner has her own fan club…and in a most shocking place. Over at Twin Peaks (similar to a Tilted Kilt) some of the waitresses and one in particular somehow considers Mugsy to be her twin. Oh, and that she is so much fun. She is a celebrity in there and we are both so confused. But anyway…..
The madness continues
Before the Master’s, Doug dropped Morikawa. During the Master’s, Big J picked up Morikawa and dumped Min Woo Lee. Today, Doug has picked up Min Woo Lee. But the end of the season, they will have completely swapped their teams.
If you don’t know what this is - be thankful!
Some mid-week fun for your Commissioner!
We're headed down the road to Hilton Head
The Heritage. Another “signature” event which means a fairly strong field with NO cut.

Wild and Busy Master’s Weekend
Where to begin: let’s go with the sidebet champion and our new leader on your FGL leaderboard. Rory’s win as well as Cam Young’s 3rd place finish were a huge part in the Team PAK-Mon win with 38 points! That’s more points in one tournament than several managers have for the whole year.
Manager Jim picked up 24 points. Big J drops into 2nd place with several of us just a few points behind.
As for Big J - TRADE ALERT he has dumped Min Woo Lee. Kind of sad. In his spot is a guy from his team last year (and a guy Doug just released early Thursday morning) - Mr. Colin Morikawa.
I had the amazing opportunity to get out to OakHaven Golf Club in Delaware this past weekend with Managers Big J and Doug. A wonderful day. Not many great shots but just enough to bring us back again!
Also got out Friday afternoon to catch some Master’s action with Ms. Monica, Doug, Maxine and Mrs. Commissioner. Gallo’s was pleased to host us.
One of Kevin’s traditional picks got himself in trouble last Thursday. Mark Calcavecchia thought he might be a last- minute sentimental pick-up by Kevin. Two problems. Mark was only AT the tournament; not in it. And then he got busted on his cell phone trying to reach Kevin. He was then immediately escorted out of the golf course.
Big J’s Bobby MacIntyre was burning quite hot Thursday. Slamming his club into the fairway and flipping off the green got him a nasty reprimand and soon thereafter a missed cut.
Congrats to Maxine for her upcoming retirement at the end of the month. I’m sure there will be fireworks and perhaps we’ll have a parade.
I was amazed watching the Artemis moon adventure. Everything went so perfect. But I often found myself trying to remember the 7 year old version of me that watched Neil Armstrong jump around on the moon and then I’d go outside and look at the moon and try to comprehend how that was even possible. This was an amazing adventure but reinforces how incredible it was to do that 55 years ago plus land & then take off from the moon with astronauts climbing outside the vehicle which did not happen this time. And back then, they pretty much did it all with paper, pencil and a slide rule.
Sunday brought Monster Trucks! Huge beasts. And louder than an AC/DC concert.
Doug has become a madman. He must be stopped
Just hours before Thursday’s round, as the sun was beginning to peak through the majestic Augusta golf course, Colin Morikawa (Doug’s #1 pick) found himself fired! His clubs were left back in the hotel and he was told to immediately leave Doug’s FGL locker room. A shocking turn of events as Doug continues to fine-tune his team. Stepping in for the week will be Mr. Jon Rahm.
Doug loses his mind at team meeting
We don’t often think of Doug as the Bobby Knight type. But clearly something has set the young captain from Carey off on a rage! Two weeks ago, he had 0 points. Then he has a big week and drafts Spaun and Si Woo. Not sure how it happened but Spaun won in Texas and Si Woo finished top 10. Another 14 points and up to 3rd place on your FGL leaderboard.
Big J had a nice week with Bobby MacIntire’s 2nd place finish and takes over the 2026 FGL lead.
Totally unrelated and a few weeks overdue, the Commissioner’s office is happy to hear that co-manager Paul is safe and doing well in Hawaii. When I hear of hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, etc in Hawaii, I always assume it’s one of the other islands. I presumed the same with the latest mud and flooding madness. I was wrong. It all went down on Paul’s island. Nasty stuff. But Paul is still standing.
Pack up. We’re all heading to Augusta for our first Major.

Opening night at Shadowbox (Thursday)
A pretty good Tuesday night
Went over to Newark to Shipp Brothers Brewery. Self-serve beer. Really good food.
We followed that with a stroll over to the Midland Theater and some George Thorogood. George still sounds great and is amazing on the guitar. At 76, he doesn’t jump around the stage like he once did. A great night. Although seeing George with Big J is always such a unique adventure compared to Mrs. Commissioner. But we still found our way.
Morikawa withdraws Tuesday before Texas Open
Sorry Doug.
Doug has a major movement!
Or should I say Doug has made a major move. Gone is Archie Griffin. Great in his time but Doug has no more patience. Also gone is Aaron Rai. Sorry guys. Stepping in IMMEDIATELY and likely on a flight at this moment is his old buddy JJ Spaun and Si Woooooooooo Kim!
Family night with the Blue Jackets
Too much madness to get everyone in a picture.
Doug makes a statement!
I guess he doesn’t like sitting at the starting line with 0 points. So this week, he picks up 16 points with all 4 of his boys making the cut and Gary Woodland picking up an impressive win!
Big J picks up 8 points with two top 10 finishers and FGL leading Monica grabs 5 points to stay in the lead.
Good news from Manager Jim. His better half Barb is already up and around on her new hip. And Jim kicked Dave’s butt on opening round NCAA picks.
The Commish is making a trade. Picking up a hot player is usually a curse when I do it. But I’m dumping Katayama and picking up some guy that I have no clue how to pronounce his name. Coming on board for only $0.96 is Sudarshan Yellamaraju. Don’t even know what he looks like. Good luck!
Not sure what to say about the Tiger situation. Apparently, alcohol was not the issue. But something caused him to drive so fast on a residential street that he flipped his car on its side. Lots of pain meds? No - it is this writers’ opinion that it was the intense and never-ending pressure from his Manager Kevin to compete in the Master’s that made Tiger drive like my grandsons on the kiddie rides at Cedar Point.
We’re staying in Texas for one more before heading to The Master’s.

Big J Bobby MacIntyre, Jordan Spieth

No Scottie this week
Sorry Kevin. Scottie has withdrawn from the Houston Open. Sounds like his wife is expecting their second child and Scottie thought it best to stay home for now.
Great tournament for Jaustin and PAK-Mon
I didn’t watch any of the Valspar (since none of my guys bothered showing up) but saw that Monica’s Fitzpatrick won the tournament. Outstanding! More shocking was to add up the points and notice that Team Jaustin had 3 top 10 finishers and 15 points for the week! As for Doug - he’s still sitting at the starting line with zero points.
We’re off to the Children’s Houston Open next

Sawgrass does not disappoint!
Congrats to PAK-Mon on a huge tournament. When the dust settled, they co-managed a first and second place finish. Quite impressive! And 1st place on your leaderboard.
Big J also had a nice tournament as he moves to second place with all his guys making the cut. All this while he’s soon to dock at the Canary Islands.
For myself, I was terribly sad to see Aberg implode. It was all looking so easy …. until it wasn’t. And I take the blame. In the middle of Sunday’s round, I started calling in with some advice on distances. However, all my numbers were in yards and they were working in meters. That can cause some issues. This won’t happen next time.
I’d like to extend a big “thank you” to manager Doug. During Friday’s very short rain delay, my boy Don Henley went into the clubhouse thinking he had plenty of time for some lunch. Doug’s boy Ben Griffin who saw Don and warned him he needed to run back out to his spot or he’d be late for the re-start. Henley finished top 20. Thanks Doug.
And beyond that, Doug just couldn’t catch a break. He ends up losing 4 points and finds himself in the basement. And as I was watching the open round on Thursday, BREAKING NEWS popped on the screen. I thought maybe there was some news on Iran; aliens had been spotted or cancer cured. No - much bigger than all that. His number 1 guy, Colin Morikawa, took a practice swing on his second hole and hurt his back. So he went home. Sorry Doug! And his other guy Gary Woodland announced that since his brain surgery, he has been trying to deal with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Against his doctor’s orders to step back from golf, Gary has decided to try and play through. A very sad story.
Best wishes to Mrs. Manager Jim as she recovers from having a new hip shoved in. Go Barb!
Off to the Valspar thing next week. Most of us have 3 guys playing; I have none.
Go Bucks on Thursday! It’s been a number of years since we’ve seen you play in the Dance. Beat TCU and then hopefully give Duke a surprise!
